continuing -4th post

This is the final post. I feel I have come a long way. I can manage my files, in folders now. I have learnt good house keeping as Elaine says. It was not easy though, It is because a little thing like where is windows explorer causes undue stress.I have learnt a trick, now when I am in doubt I go to my hard desk and click the search icon, and it sorts things for me. so I was able to get at windows explorer and having learnt how to get the files into a folder at one of the sessions ,I have tidied up my documents. manil

3rd installment

I struggled with trying to look at e- journals, Repeatedly I was asked to keep a cookie, but my computer did not have the curtsey to tell me whether he took the cookie or not, after all I tried my best offering it.In desperation I went the long way round. without the bribe of the cookie,but still had no luck with the article as I was told it was removed,Having gained a bit of insight I started browsing to see why, and found that the 'lion' website keeps journals from 5 years back only and I had wanted 2001, 7 years back. Things are begining to make sense now, and also the fear is decreasing due to blogging, so hopefully I will be an expert when I finish with blogging. manil

Continuing Computing

The computer book windows xp quick steps seems useful.Each chapter guides you through each topic. I found using the internet useful after the first session in the computer course. The book made more sense after that.The problem is when its explained you think it makes sensne but when You try it at home it's a disaster. added to everything I found I had not brought a single hand out home, so I was in a mess, and resorted to thebook which the children are always harping about and I found it gaveme advice which I could undersatand now, so hopefully there is some chance for me. manil

Hi every one


This is the first day at computer training.Unfortunately Manil Sube has stolen my blogg name. I do know some computing, as you know I had to learn it the hard way, with shouts from Harshini and Navindu.I dont like learning it off from a book, They were fond of saying," Look it up in the book mum," so you can see I was really dependent.But I am not that dumb, I do know how to do an assignment make margins, line spacing and send it by e-mail. I had to do it for open university, but I dont know how to use the web properly. I can't open several windows and flip from one to the other, and I can't print choosing only the pearls of wisdom without all the other things on the page. and I dont know how to get bibiliography for research on a topic. I will keep you posted on the progress. manil
